How To Register For Waec GCE

WAEC GCE registration for private candidates sitting for this exam, will be done online.

When you purchase the registration pin, log onto the WAEC portal to continue your registration.

Keep in mind that the WAEC GCE registration process requires your biometric features which will be saved for validation at your exam centre on the day of the exam.

Walk-In Candidates

If you plan to go directly  to the WAEC office to register for the GCE, then you need to be there 24 hours before the time of the exam paper you wish to write.

Walk-In Candidates are required to pay the sum of 30,500 for the registration.

Special Needs Candidates

How To Select Preferred GCE Exam Town

Once you have completed your registration for WAEC GCE, you would be asked by WAEC to select a town where you would prefer to take the exam.

To see which towns and exam centres are available, you have to visit the official WAEC website. You are also required to get this information before you buy the registration pin.

The designated exam centre in the town you chose, will be assigned to you automatically by the WAEC registration system. Note that after submitting your exam town, you cannot change it.

WAEC GCE Examination Guidelines

  • Registration fees are non-refundable.
  • Print the examination timetable after registering for the exam.
  • Submit your registration form with a 275 by 314 pixels sized passport, taken on any background that is not blue or red. Passports that don’t meet this requirement will be rejected along with the form.
  • Study the regulations, syllabuses, and timetable for the WAEC GCE exam download from the WAEC website using your registration Pin.
  • Wear only Mufti to the examination hall, no weapons or professional uniforms are allowed inside the hall.
  • Candidates who sit for this exam in multiple centres, will have all their examinations cancelled.
  • No smoking in the exam hall.
  • Mobile phones and other electronic devices being brought into the hall is enough ground to have your results cancelled.
  • Ensure that all the information you provide during the registration is correct before uploading as WAEC won’t be responsible for any mistakes you make, or accept your request for corrections to information you willingly submitted.
  • Take your original Photo Card to the exam hall.
